Fixation Disparity
Fixation disparity occurs when your eyes are slightly misaligned while trying to focus on the same object, even if you don’t notice it consciously. Instead of both eyes perfectly aligned, one eye might be a bit inward or outward. This small misalignment doesn’t usually cause double vision, but it can lead to eye strain, headaches, or blurred vision over time. Fixation disparity is often subtle and can be detected with special tests, helping optometrists prescribe corrective lenses or exercises to improve eye coordination and comfort during visual tasks.
