Five Powers Defence Arrangements (FPDA)

The Five Powers Defence Arrangements (FPDA) is a security alliance formed in 1971 among Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. It focuses on regional stability and mutual defense, especially in Southeast Asia. If one member is attacked, the others are committed to consult and consider collective responses, which may include military support. While it is not a formal NATO-like treaty, the FPDA enhances cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint exercises to deter threats and promote peace in the region.
