Fission bomb

A fission bomb is a type of nuclear weapon that releases a massive amount of energy through the process of nuclear fission, where the nucleus of a heavy atom like uranium or plutonium splits into smaller fragments. This splitting releases a tremendous amount of heat, radiation, and additional neutrons, which then cause more nuclei to split, creating a chain reaction. The rapid release of energy results in an extremely powerful explosion with destructive effects over a large area. Fission bombs are also known as atomic bombs and represent a significant advancement in weapons technology.
