firing processes

Firing processes refer to the steps used to harden ceramic or clay objects through heating. After shaping, the piece is gradually heated in a kiln to remove moisture and stabilize the structure. This initial firing, called bisque firing, makes the piece durable and ready for glazing. The glazed item is then fired again at higher temperatures (glaze firing), causing the glaze to melt and bond to the surface. These controlled heating and cooling cycles are essential for achieving durability, color, and finish in pottery and ceramics, ensuring the final product is strong and aesthetically pleasing.
