Firefighting Foam

Firefighting foam is a specialized liquid that suppresses fires by forming a thick, insulating layer over flammable liquids, cutting off oxygen and preventing re-ignition. It consists of a foam concentrate mixed with water and air, creating bubbles that cling to surfaces and smother flames more effectively than water alone. Used primarily on flammable liquid fires, such as gasoline or oil, foam also cools the area and reduces vapors. Different formulations are available for specific hazards, but all aim to quickly contain fires and minimize environmental impact. Proper application and handling are essential for safety and effectiveness.
