Firebreak
A firebreak is a barrier or cleared strip of land intentionally made to stop or slow the spread of wildfires. By removing or reducing flammable vegetation along these strips, firefighters create a physical gap that fire cannot easily cross, helping to contain or control the fire's progress. Firebreaks can be natural, like rivers or rocky areas, or man-made, such as cleared corridor roads or trenches. They are a vital part of wildfire management, providing strategic points to protect communities, infrastructure, and natural resources during fire emergencies.
