Fire triangles
The fire triangle illustrates the three essential elements needed for a fire to ignite and sustain: heat, fuel, and oxygen. Heat provides the initial energy to start combustion, fuel is the material that burns, and oxygen supports the chemical reaction. Removing any one of these elements prevents or extinguishes a fire. Understanding this helps in fire prevention and control, such as cooling the fire (removing heat), smothering it (removing oxygen), or eliminating fuel sources. The concept emphasizes that controlling or eliminating one element stops the fire from continuing.
