Fire Regime Condition Class
Fire Regime Condition Class (FRCC) is a way to measure how much a landscape’s natural fire patterns have changed from their historical state. It considers factors like fire frequency, severity, and how the landscape typically responds to fire. There are three classes: - Class 1 (Least changed): Fire patterns are close to natural conditions. - Class 2 (Moderately changed): Some changes from natural fire regimes. - Class 3 (Highly changed): Significant alterations, often due to human activity, with fire patterns vastly different from natural. This helps land managers assess fire risks and restore natural fire processes.
