Fire extinguishing agents
Fire extinguishing agents are substances used to put out fires by removing heat, oxygen, or fuel. Different agents include water, which cools and suppresses flames; foam, which covers fuel to prevent oxygen contact; dry chemicals (likeABC or BC powders) that interrupt chemical reactions; carbon dioxide (CO₂), which displaces oxygen; and clean agents (such as halons) that inhibit fire reactions without residue. Selecting the appropriate agent depends on the fire type and environment, ensuring effective suppression while minimizing damage.
