Fine-Needle Aspiration (FNA) technique
Fine-Needle Aspiration (FNA) is a minimally invasive procedure used to collect cells from a lump or abnormal area, often in the thyroid, lymph nodes, or breast. Using a thin, hollow needle attached to a syringe, a healthcare provider gently punctures the lesion to extract a small sample of cells. The sample is then examined under a microscope to help determine if the growth is benign or malignant. FNA is typically quick, causes minimal discomfort, and provides valuable information for diagnosis without the need for major surgery.
