Financial Secrecy Index

The Financial Secrecy Index (FSI) measures how much countries enable financial privacy and secrecy, often linked to activities like tax avoidance, money laundering, or hiding assets. It evaluates countries based on two factors: how strict their secrecy laws are and the scale of their offshore financial industry. A higher FSI score indicates a country is a major source of global financial secrecy, making it easier for illicit activities to happen discreetly. The index helps identify jurisdictions that pose higher risks to financial transparency and global efforts to combat financial crimes.
