Filter Press
A filter press is a machine used to separate solids from liquids in a mix, using a series of heavy-duty plates and a filtering medium like cloth or paper. The slurry (mixture of solid and liquid) is poured into the press, and pressure is applied to push the liquid through the filter media, leaving the solid material behind as a cake. Once the filtration is complete, the solids are removed, and the liquid, now clarified, can be collected or treated further. It’s commonly used in industries like mining, chemical processing, and wastewater treatment for efficient solid-liquid separation.
