Filiki Eteria

Filiki Eteria was a secret organization formed in 1814 by Greek nationalists with the goal of ending Ottoman rule and establishing an independent Greek state. Operating clandestinely, its members engaged in planning, fundraising, and revolutionary activities to mobilize Greek support and coordination. The organization played a crucial role in preparing the groundwork for the Greek War of Independence, which began in 1821. Its efforts contributed significantly to uniting Greeks and inspiring resistance, ultimately leading to Greece gaining independence from Ottoman control.
