Field capacity curve

A field capacity curve shows how much water soil can hold at different levels of moisture after excess water has drained away, reaching a stable state. It illustrates the relationship between soil moisture content and how tightly or loosely the water is held in the soil pores. This curve helps farmers and scientists understand the available water for plants and how soil moisture changes with weather or irrigation.
