Fiefdom
A fiefdom refers to a territory or estate granted by a lord to a vassal in medieval times, forming the basis of feudal society. The vassal managed the land and, in return, provided loyalty, military service, or other duties to the lord. This relationship established a hierarchical system where land ownership and authority were linked, creating a network of mutual obligations. Today, the term is often used metaphorically to describe any domain or area over which an individual or group has exclusive control or influence.
