Fichtean Self
The Fichtean Self refers to the idea that our sense of identity arises actively through our own consciousness and personal effort. According to philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte, the self isn't a fixed thing but a dynamic process shaped by our inner activity—our thoughts, choices, and intentions. It emphasizes that we create our identity through a continuous, self-generating act of self-awareness, meaning we define who we are by engaging with our own mind and will. Essentially, the Self is an ongoing, conscious process of self-formation and self-assertion.
