Fiberglass Cast
A fiberglass cast is a medical device used to immobilize broken or injured bones to promote proper healing. Made from a lightweight, durable material reinforced with fine glass fibers, it is more comfortable and quicker to set than traditional plaster casts. The cast is applied over a padding layer, then soaked in water, where it molds to the shape of the limb. As it dries, it hardens to provide strong, firm support, allowing patients to move and bathe more easily while ensuring the injury heals correctly.
