Fiberboard

Fiberboard is a type of engineered wood product made from compressed wood fibers, such as sawdust and wood chips, bound together with adhesive. It’s commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and wall panels due to its affordability and smooth surface. There are different types, like medium-density (MDF) and high-density fiberboard (HDF), which vary in strength and thickness. Fiberboard is valued for its uniformity, ease of machining, and versatility, although it can be sensitive to moisture and may emit formaldehyde-based fumes if not properly finished.
