Fever: Part.2

Fever results when the body's immune system raises body temperature to fight infections. When harmful organisms like bacteria or viruses invade, the brain’s hypothalamus detects this and releases chemicals called pyrogens. These pyrogens signal the hypothalamus to increase the body's temperature set point, producing a fever. The elevated temperature helps inhibit pathogen growth and enhances immune responses. Fever also triggers physiological responses such as shivering and constriction of blood vessels to maintain heat. While mild fevers are beneficial, very high temperatures can be dangerous and may require medical attention.
