Fever: Part.1

Fever, or pyrexia, is a common response where the body raises its temperature above normal, usually due to an infection or illness. It occurs when the immune system releases chemicals called pyrogens, which tell the brain's thermostat— the hypothalamus— to increase body temperature. This elevated temperature helps the body fight off pathogens by creating an environment less favorable for their growth and enhancing immune function. Symptoms often include chills, sweating, and feeling hot. Fever is generally a sign that the body is working to recover, but very high or prolonged fevers may require medical attention.
