Feudal systems
Feudal systems were social and economic structures that dominated medieval Europe, characterized by the exchange of land for loyalty and service. At the top was the king, who divided his land among noble lords in return for military support. These lords, in turn, granted portions of their land to vassals (knights) who promised to protect them. Peasants or serfs worked the land for the lords in exchange for protection and a place to live. This hierarchical system created obligations and rights, fostering a society built on personal relationships and mutual dependence among different classes.
