Feudal Law
Feudal law was a system used in medieval Europe to organize land ownership and loyalty. It centered on a hierarchy where kings granted large land areas called fiefs to nobles or lords, who in turn allowed vassals or knights to use parts of the land. In exchange, vassals pledged loyalty, military service, and other support to their lords. Peasants, or serfs, worked the land for the lords but had limited rights. This system structured society around mutual obligations—landlords provided protection, while vassals and workers supported the landowners in return.
