Festival of Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings. Observed with devotion, it involves elaborate prayers, rituals, and the installation of clay idols in homes and public pandals (temporary structures). The festival lasts for several days, during which devotees offer sweets, especially modaks, and perform Ganesh Aarti. It symbolizes welcoming the deity into homes and communities, asking for his blessings. The celebration concludes with a grand procession and immersion (visarjan) of the idols into water, signifying the cycle of creation and dissolution in nature.
