The Fertile Crescent is a historically significant region in the Middle East, stretching from the eastern Mediterranean through parts of modern-day Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan. Known as the "cradle of civilization," it features rich, arable land and abundant water sources, making it ideal for early agriculture. Around 10,000 years ago, ancient peoples cultivated crops like wheat and barley and domesticated animals here, leading to the development of some of the world's earliest cities and complex societies.
