Ferdinand Carré
Ferdinand Carré was a French engineer and inventor who, in the 19th century, developed an early refrigeration system using ammonia as a cooling agent. His design, known as the "Carré refrigerator," improved the process of preserving food and facilitating industrial cooling by compressing and expanding ammonia to transfer heat away from spaces or substances. This innovation laid foundational principles for modern refrigeration technology, making food storage safer, more efficient, and more widely accessible.
