femoral nail
A femoral nail is a specialized metal rod used to repair fractures in the thigh bone (femur). During surgery, the nail is inserted into the hollow center of the fractured bone to stabilize and align it, helping it heal properly. It is usually made of strong, biocompatible material like titanium or steel. The nail may be fixed in place with screws at both ends to prevent movement. This minimally invasive procedure allows for quicker recovery, reduces pain, and helps restore normal function, especially in serious fractures where the bone has broken into multiple pieces.
