Felting

Felting is a process of transforming raw wool fibers into a dense, sturdy material through agitation, heat, moisture, and pressure. When wool is exposed to these conditions, the tiny scales on its fibers latch onto each other, creating a strong, unified fabric without weaving or knitting. This technique is used to make items like hats, scarves, and sculptures. Felting can be done by wetting and rolling the wool or by dry felting with needles that tangle the fibers directly. The result is a durable, textured material prized for its warmth and versatility.
