Felix Frankfurter
Felix Frankfurter (1882-1965) was an influential American jurist and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, serving from 1939 to 1962. A key figure in promoting the idea of judicial restraint, he believed that courts should respect the decisions of legislatures unless there was a clear violation of the Constitution. He was an advocate for civil liberties and played a significant role in landmark cases involving free speech and civil rights. Frankfurter was also a prominent legal scholar and a professor at Harvard Law School, where he shaped many future lawyers and judges.
