Federation of Southern Cooperatives

The Federation of Southern Cooperatives is a nonprofit organization that supports Black farmers and rural communities in the U.S. South. It provides resources such as affordable land, credit, technical assistance, and market access to promote economic independence and sustainable agriculture. Established in 1967, it works to empower marginalized farmers, preserve Black land ownership, and strengthen local cooperatives. Through collaboration and advocacy, the Federation aims to achieve racial equity, community resilience, and community-controlled economic development in underserved areas.
