Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG)

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are need-based federal grants designed to help undergraduate students with financial need pay for college. Unlike loans, these grants do not need to be repaid. The amount awarded varies based on the student’s financial situation, the amount of funds available at the institution, and other aid received. FSEOGs are typically awarded to students with the most significant financial need and are usually offered in addition to other federal aid programs. They are administered directly through participating colleges and universities.
