Federal District Court

A Federal District Court is a trial court in the United States federal judicial system where cases involving federal laws, constitutional issues, or disputes between states occur. Each state has at least one district court, and there are 94 in total. Judges in these courts hear both civil and criminal cases, making decisions based on federal statutes. If a party disagrees with the outcome, they can appeal to a higher court, typically the Circuit Court of Appeals. Federal District Courts play a crucial role in interpreting and applying federal law.
