Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN)
The Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN), established in 1930, was a U.S. government agency responsible for enforcing laws related to the illegal drug trade. It aimed to regulate and control the manufacture, distribution, and possession of narcotics like heroin and opium. The FBN worked to combat drug trafficking and abuse, laying the groundwork for later drug enforcement agencies. In 1968, it was merged into the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), which continues to handle federal drug enforcement today. The FBN played a key role in shaping early drug policy and law enforcement efforts in the United States.
