Federal Alcohol Administration
The Federal Alcohol Administration (FAA) was a U.S. government agency established in 1935 to regulate the alcohol industry. It was responsible for enforcing laws related to the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages, including licensing and labeling standards. The FAA aimed to ensure public safety, prevent illegal activities, and promote fair business practices within the alcohol industry. In 1966, its responsibilities were absorbed into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), which continues to oversee alcohol regulation today.
