FAWC (Farm Animal Welfare Council)
The Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) was a UK organization established to advise on the well-being of farm animals. Its role was to ensure that animals used in agriculture are treated humanely, considering their physical and mental needs. FAWC provided guidance to policymakers, farmers, and the public, promoting standards that prevent suffering and encourage ethical treatment. Although it was integrated into other regulatory bodies in 2011, its work helped shape legislation and best practices for animal welfare in farming practices across the UK.
