Fauna of the Himalayas
The Himalayas are home to diverse and unique animals adapted to high-altitude environments. You can find elusive snow leopards, known for their thick fur and stealth, and Himalayan blue sheep that graze on rugged slopes. Red pandas, with their reddish fur and bushy tails, live in forested areas. Other inhabitants include Himalayan brown bears, marmots that hibernate during winter, and colorful pheasants. These animals have developed special features—like thick fur or slow movement—to survive extreme cold, thin air, and rugged terrain, making the Himalayas one of the world’s most remarkable regions for wildlife.
