FAT12

FAT12 is a file system used for managing data on floppy disks and small storage devices. It stands for "File Allocation Table 12," where "12" refers to the 12-bit addresses used to track files. This system organizes data by keeping a table that links clusters (small storage units) to files on the disk. Although it's limited in size and efficiency compared to modern file systems, it was important in the early days of computing, allowing users to store and retrieve files easily. FAT12 laid the foundation for more advanced versions like FAT16 and FAT32.
