Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs)
Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) are groupings of farmers who come together to collectively manage their farming activities—such as buying inputs, marketing their produce, and accessing resources—more efficiently and at better terms. By working as a cooperative, members can reduce costs, increase bargaining power, and improve profits. FPOs aim to empower farmers, especially smallholders, by providing shared services, knowledge, and better market access, ultimately helping them earn fairer income and enhance their livelihoods.
