Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC)
The Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) was a UK organization established to advise government and industry on issues related to the well-being of farm animals. Its goal was to ensure that animals raised for food and other purposes were treated ethically, with proper attention to their physical and mental needs. FAWC provided scientific evidence and recommendations to promote humane practices, improve living conditions, and shape animal welfare policies. Although it was dissolved in 2010, its work influenced laws and standards that continue to guide how farm animals are cared for in the UK.
