FAR (Forzas Armadas Revolucionarias)
FAR (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias) were a Marxist-Leninist guerrilla group in El Salvador active from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. They aimed to overthrow the government, which they saw as oppressive and backed by wealthy elites and foreign interests. Operating clandestinely, FAR engaged in armed resistance, including attacks on military and government targets, promoting revolutionary change. Their actions contributed to a brutal civil war in El Salvador, which ultimately ended with peace accords in 1992. The group is linked to radical leftist ideology and sought social justice through revolutionary means.
