Famciclovir

Famciclovir is an antiviral medication used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, such as herpes zoster (shingles), herpes simplex (cold sores), and genital herpes. It works by inhibiting the virus's ability to multiply, helping to reduce symptoms, speed healing, and decrease the chance of spreading the infection. Famciclovir is usually taken as a tablet and is most effective when started early in the infection. It does not cure the virus but helps manage outbreaks and may decrease their severity and frequency.
