facsimile
A facsimile, or fax, is a method of transmitting scanned images of documents electronically over a telephone or internet connection. It works by converting the pages into digital data, sending that data to another fax machine, which then reproduces an exact copy of the original document on paper. Essentially, it's a way to quickly share physical documents remotely, commonly used in businesses for transmitting important papers securely and efficiently. Though less common today with email and digital sharing, fax remains important in certain industries for its reliability and legal acceptance.
