Faces Pain Scale-Revised
The Faces Pain Scale-Revised (FPS-R) is a tool used to help individuals communicate how much pain they are experiencing. It features a series of faces that range from a happy, smiling face (no pain) to a very distressed, crying face (worst pain). Patients select the face that best matches how they feel. This scale is especially useful for children, those with language difficulties, or anyone who finds it hard to describe pain verbally. It provides a simple, visual way for healthcare providers to understand and assess pain levels quickly and accurately.
