Faceoff
A faceoff is a method used to start play or restart the game after stoppages in ice hockey. Two players from opposing teams stand facing each other at the center of the ice, and the referee drops the puck between them. When the puck hits the ice, these players try to gain control for their team. Faceoffs ensure fair possession and help organize the game flow, occurring frequently in various game situations such as after goals, penalties, or when the puck leaves play.
