Fabulist

A "fabulist" is someone who tells stories or accounts that are imaginative, exaggerated, or not entirely true. While some may craft these tales for entertainment or artistic expression, the term often carries a connotation of embellishment or dishonesty. Essentially, a fabulist fabricates or inflates details, sometimes blurring the line between reality and fiction, whether intentionally or out of habit. The word is commonly used to describe authors, storytellers, or individuals who frequently share stories that are entertaining but not necessarily factual.
