Félibrige
Félibrige is a cultural and literary movement founded in 1854 in southern France, specifically promoting the Occitan language and regional identity. Its goal was to revive and preserve Occitan literature, traditions, and customs amid growing French centralization and cultural homogenization. Members, called félibrigeans, celebrated regional history, folklore, and language through poetry, festivals, and publications. The movement played a significant role in fostering regional pride and cultural awareness, contributing to the broader regionalist and linguistic preservation efforts in France.
