F-2 visa
An F-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows dependents—such as spouses and unmarried children under 21—of individuals holding an F-1 student visa to legally stay in the United States. This visa permits family members to live in the U.S. while the primary F-1 student studies. However, F-2 visa holders cannot work or study full-time (except limited coursework for children). The F-2 status is tied to the primary F-1 visa holder’s status, meaning it depends on the student maintaining their visa conditions.
