Eylea (Aflibercept)

Eylea (Aflibercept) is a medical injection used to treat eye conditions like age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and other retinal diseases that cause vision loss. It works by blocking certain proteins that promote abnormal blood vessel growth and fluid leakage in the eye, which can damage the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye (the retina). By inhibiting these proteins, Eylea helps reduce swelling and prevent further vision deterioration. It is typically administered by an eye specialist every few weeks or months, depending on the condition being treated.
