Extreme Universe Space Observatory

The Extreme Universe Space Observatory (EUSO) is a scientific instrument designed to detect ultra-high-energy cosmic rays from space. These are rare, very energetic particles coming from outer space that strike Earth's atmosphere, creating light signals called extensive air showers. By observing these flashes from aboard a satellite or space station, EUSO aims to study their origins and properties, helping scientists understand some of the most energetic phenomena in the universe. Its space-based approach allows for a wide, unobstructed view of Earth's atmosphere, increasing the chances of detecting these elusive particles.
