Extra Time
Extra Time is the additional period added to a match when the score is tied at the end of regular playing time, typically during knockout competitions. It usually consists of two halves, each lasting 15 minutes. The purpose is to provide both teams a fair chance to win before resorting to a penalty shootout. Extra Time is played under standard rules, with teams trying to score goals, and play continues until the period ends or a goal is scored, but if the score remains tied, the game proceeds to penalties.
