External Fixators

External fixators are medical devices used to stabilize broken bones from outside the body. They consist of metal pins or screws inserted into the bone through the skin, connected by a framework outside the skin. This setup holds the broken bones in the correct position, allowing them to heal properly. External fixators are often used in complex fractures, severe injuries, or situations requiring quick stabilization. They enable access to the injury site for cleaning and treatment while providing firm support, and can be adjusted externally without additional surgery during the healing process.
